15w2d now. Queasiness hasn't totally gone, but it has backed off a bit more, so yay. :) We've started working on making room for the baby.
Our house has 3 bedrooms. Currently, we sleep in one of them, one is a study, and one is home to my craft stuff and a guest bed. The plan is for that last room to become baby's room, but stuff has to be moved out of there in order to make room. So my crafty stuff will be relocated to the study. Except that the study closet was full.
Well, it's not quite as full now: we went through the gajillion old computers and computer parts Derek had stored there. We took like 5 CPUs, 2 monitors, 3 printers (including a dot matrix one...yeah), and a laptop to the hazardous waste place. When Derek wistfully showed me the very first computer he'd ever bought for himself, I asked if he wanted me to take a picture so we could one day show the kid what we gave up in order to have him/her, but he opted against it. ;) Also, Derek's knowledge of every type of cable that exists is really quite frightening to me.
So now the study closet has significantly more room. There's stuff on the other side that I need to go through (like all my notes from high school and college...oh, and does anyone want a French horn?), and a bunch of CDs that we both need to sort out. But we've started making headway, so that's a good thing.
I'm also making room for the baby to grow, apparently - I bought maternity jeans yesterday! My regular ones had gotten snug enough that I really didn't like the idea of wearing them on our trip to Augusta this weekend, so I figured I'd try on some maternity ones. They felt sooo much more comfortable than the regular ones. I guess I'm finally starting to get a little pudgy in the belly. (This is the first time in my life I've been happy about that...) Sorry, no pictures until I actually look pregnant instead of just fat. ;)

14 Week Update
14 weeks today - definitely in the second trimester, by any reckoning. (I've heard 12, 13, and 14 weeks as the cutoff point.) Unfortunately, my queasiness hasn't gotten the memo - it's still hanging around. I do think it's less frequent than it used to be, but when it hits, it can be pretty bad.
Derek and I went to a store in Thomasville (about half an hour away from us) to look at baby stuff on Saturday. A friend had told me that this store is FAR better with customer service than the stores in Tallahassee. They carry the furniture we'd already seen here in town and liked (Million Dollar Baby's Emily collection - we'd be getting the crib and the dresser/changer combo piece, most likely, in honey oak). They also had tons of other baby paraphernalia, which left us rather overwhelmed. It's kind of insane how many things need to be decided on and bought for this little person.
Bedding, though - I'm leaning toward just making my own. I'd just have to do a bumper and dust ruffle, which shouldn't be too hard or time-consuming (I wouldn't think), and I'll be making the kid a quilt anyway (which I know isn't supposed to go in the crib at first). Sheets we'd buy. I don't know if it's a good idea, since I know I'll be pretty crunched for time once school starts back up, but I do know I'm having a hard time finding things I like, and I think I'd have more luck just choosing my own fabric.
Anyway, that's about it for this week. :)

13 week update
Right, right, posting now. :)
Everything's going...pretty much the same. I spent about two hours at the doctor's office yesterday for an appointment that took about 10 minutes, but I got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Sounded like the ocean, kind of. It was good to get to hear it again. Next appointment is in 4 weeks, and then at the one 4 weeks after *that* I'll have the big ultrasound.
My weight has stayed the same so far, and I'm not showing at all yet - none of my clothes are tight or anything. I'm trying to remind myself that I'll get tired of being bigger once things are farther along, but at this point I find myself a little jealous of others who are expecting in January and already showing. I am glad that my weight's steady so far - the doctor said that's fine, though he guesses I'll probably have gained a pound or two at my next visit.
The queasies are, sadly, still with me, though they're seeming to take a day off here and there. Hopefully they'll be gone for good soon, and hopefully I'll quit being grossed out by most foods soon, too. I'm also still pretty tired a lot of the time, but at this point, most of my obligations for the summer are done, so I can get extra sleep in when I need it.
That's about all I can think of that's going on...I'll try to remember to update once a week or so. :)
